FAQs & Important Information

What is the latest I can order my cake?

All Regnier Cakes cakes require a minimum of 3 weeks' notice.

We operate with limited availability each weekend to ensure every cake receives the time, preparation and attention it deserves.

All available dates are shown through our online ordering system. If your required date is unavailable, we are fully booked for cake orders that weekend.

For popular dates and larger celebrations, we recommend ordering 4–8 weeks in advance.

When can I collect my cake?

Regnier Cakes cakes are available for collection from our Braeside studio on:

Saturday & Sunday
11am–1pm

You will select an available collection time when placing your order online.

Please arrive at your selected collection time.

Regnier Cakes is a working cake studio, not a retail shopfront, which means we are not staffed for walk-in collections throughout the day. Our production, events and other commitments are scheduled around your nominated collection time.

Arriving significantly earlier or later than your booked time may mean we are unavailable to assist you.

If you are unexpectedly delayed on the day, please let us know as soon as possible.

Can I change my collection time?

Please choose your collection time carefully when placing your order.

As Regnier Cakes is not a retail shopfront, we cannot guarantee that someone will be available outside your selected collection time.

If something unexpected happens and you need to request a change, please contact us as early as possible. Alternative collection times are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer delivery?

Regnier Cakes online cake orders are collection only from our Braeside studio.

Delivery is no longer available for general online cake orders.

If you are booking an event or catering through our sister business, Events on Citrus, cake delivery and setup may be available as part of your complete event package.

How do I transport my cake?

Your Regnier Cakes cake will be securely boxed ready for collection.

We recommend transporting your cake on a flat, level surface, preferably on the passenger-side floor or in a flat, secure area of your vehicle.

Do not place your cake on a car seat, as the angle can cause the cake to move during transport.

Keep your vehicle cool, avoid direct sunlight and make sure surrounding items cannot move or fall onto the cake.

If travelling between multiple locations, refrigeration between trips may make the cake safer to transport. Remember to allow enough time for the cake to return to room temperature before serving.

Once your cake has been collected, Regnier Cakes cannot take responsibility for damage that occurs during transportation.

How long will my cake last?

For the best flavour and eating quality, we recommend enjoying your cake as close to your celebration date as possible.

When stored correctly, most of our cakes have a shelf life of approximately 5–7 days.

How do I store my cake?

Regnier Cakes cakes are best enjoyed at room temperature, approximately 18–22°C.

Cakes can generally remain at room temperature for up to 24 hours when kept in a cool place away from direct sunlight and heat.

If your cake has been refrigerated, allow approximately 2 hours at room temperature before serving.

Our cakes are made with ingredients that can become firm when cold. If they are not brought back to room temperature before serving, this may negatively affect the texture and overall eating quality of the cake.

If refrigerating, keep your cake boxed and away from strong-smelling foods such as onions, meats and spices, as these flavours can be absorbed by the cake.

Some decorations may also be affected by refrigeration.

Regnier Cakes cannot take responsibility for changes in cake quality resulting from storage outside our recommended conditions.

Can I choose my own colours?

Yes. Many of our cake designs include colour selections when ordering.

If you require a colour that isn't listed, add your preferred colour to the comments section when placing your order.

Please remember that colours are mixed by hand and slight variations can occur.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

We offer selected options suitable for dairy-free, gluten-free and egg-free requirements, including cakes from our vegan range.

Our kitchen handles a variety of ingredients and we cannot guarantee the absence of traces or cross-contact.

Some decorations, including macarons, contain almonds.

Please carefully review the dietary information provided when ordering and contact us before placing your order if you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your requirements.

Can I add a message to my cake?

Yes. A small personalised plaque can be added to selected cakes for an additional charge.

Our cake designs are intentionally styled, so space for large messages directly on the cake may be limited. NOTE: we do not create or supply cake toppers.

Can I order a design that isn't available online?

Regnier Cakes now focuses primarily on our carefully curated online cake collection.

Can I make changes to a cake design?

Our online collection has been carefully designed with selected options for colours, flavours, sizes and personalisation.

Minor selections can be made through the options provided on each product page.

We don't offer major alterations to our online designs.

What happens if I need to cancel or postpone my event?

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for information regarding cancellations, postponements and changes to online orders.

About Regnier Cakes

Regnier Cakes is an independent, owner-operated cake studio based in Braeside, Melbourne.

Owner and pastry chef Melina Regnier brings over 27 years of professional baking and pastry experience to every cake she creates.

After 15 years of Regnier Cakes, our focus is on creating a limited number of handcrafted cakes each weekend for customers who specifically value the quality, craftsmanship and experience behind a Regnier Cakes cake.

Our online ordering system has been designed to make ordering simple while allowing us to carefully plan each week's production. All general cake orders are placed directly online with a minimum of 3 weeks' notice and are subject to availability.

Regnier Cakes is a working cake studio rather than a retail shopfront. By operating through pre-orders and scheduled collections, we can dedicate our time to creating each order rather than running a traditional retail store.

Every cake is baked and decorated in our registered commercial kitchen using premium ingredients and made with the care and attention that has defined Regnier Cakes for 15 years.

The photographs throughout our website feature cakes we have created for previous clients. As each cake is individually handcrafted, slight variations in colour, placement and decoration may occur.

Fresh flowers and other seasonal decorations are subject to availability and may vary from the examples photographed.

For the best eating experience, please follow the storage, transportation and serving instructions provided with your cake.

Plan ahead. Book your date. Make it a Regnier Cakes cake.
